Silviculture Spotlight: Paul Bertner

Paul Bertner has worked with Leader Silviculture as a planter for ten years. One of the many benefits of working as a planter with Leader Silviculture is that the season only lasts a portion of the year. This allows employees to work on their passion projects and do what they want to do in their off-season. When Paul isn’t planting for Leader Silviculture, he’s traveling the world taking incredible photos of the forests and wildlife that he encounters.

Paul has a background in cell biology and genetics. He’s had a fascination with wildlife and ecosystems ever since he was a child. When he was growing up, he build makeshift vivariums (think small-scale ecosystems, usually in tanks) in his bedroom, and would explore his local forests, rivers and more, looking for interesting wildlife to find.

Since then, his fascination with nature has developed, and expanded into a career path that takes him all over the globe, capturing incredible photos of the environment, and the incredible creatures that live there. Now, he specializes in landscapes, as well as macro photography of new, rare, and endangered animals of this world.

Below is a select portfolio of shots that were taken while planting with Leader Silviculture. To see more of Paul’s work, and to read more about his incredible story, visit his website by clicking below.
